License
MIT or Apache-2.0, at your option
Every RadioChron component — the Rust core, the CLI, the agent, the MCP server, the desktop app and the fleet tooling — is released under the same dual license used across the Rust ecosystem. You may choose either license for your use.
MIT
Short and permissive. Do what you like, keep the copyright notice, expect no warranty.
Apache-2.0
The same freedoms with an explicit patent grant and contribution terms — often the one corporate legal teams prefer.
What this means in practice
- Use RadioChron commercially, inside a company, on customer sites, without asking.
- Embed the recorder or the verdict engine in your own product, open or closed.
- Fork it, rename it, ship it — keep the license text and attribution.
- There is no paid tier gating features, and no telemetry funding the free one.
- It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Verdicts are hypotheses; you own the operational decisions you make from them.
Contributions
Unless you state otherwise, any contribution you intentionally submit for inclusion in RadioChron is dual licensed as above, with no additional terms — the standard Apache-2.0 section 5 arrangement. There is no separate CLA to sign.
